Apple has unveiled the Apple Vision Pro, a spatial computer that blends digital content with the physical world, while allowing users to stay present and connected to others. Vision Pro creates an infinite canvas for apps that scales beyond the boundaries of a traditional display and introduces a three-dimensional user interface controlled by the most natural and intuitive inputs possible — a user’s eyes, hands, and voice. Vision Pro lets users interact with digital content in a way that feels like it is physically present in their space.

Most people are calling the Vision Pro a “headset.” That’s like calling the Rivian R1T “just another pickup truck.” Apple has created what is arguably one of the most advanced computer platforms ever created.

Although created for consumers to use in the home, retail analysts believe the Vision Pro will have an impact on retail. Will it?

3D, AR/VR and AI can easily change the way in which consumers engage with e-commerce experiences and the online channel. This creates much more practical applications for bringing e-commerce to life than in the metaverse; imagine consumers being able to view products in 3D while shopping online or browse multiple retail sites at once in one visual. E-commerce has always struggled with replicating the in-store experience online and spurring impulse purchasing. 3D, AR/VR and AI may be the key to unlocking that potential.

When Apple unveils a product, bad things happen eventually. For example, when the iPhone was unveiled in 2007, the leader in the smartphone market was Blackberry. By 2011, Apple was the smartphone leader and shortly thereafter, Blackberry went out of business. Why? Apple had created a better product.

In 2023, Apple certainly created a cool product, the Vision Pro. However, the company with the better software specific to the needs of retailers for 3D, immersive e-commerce, store planning, and highly advanced 7-Level digital twins for analysis and planning, is 345 Global led by founder and CEO Mark Edwards. Truth be told, the software from 345 Global is vastly superior to what I’ve watched related to the capabilities of the Vision Pro. For example, Apple is promoting the capabilities of visionOS as a gaming platform. 345 Global is also a gaming platform. 345 is for businesses and consumers. A headset isn’t required.

345 has the better product, not Apple. The Vision Pro is cool but useless. Retailers don’t need it. 345 Global is what retailers need.

345 Global is going to unveil their software to the public for the first time during Groceryshop, an incredible retail and technology conference being held September 18 – 21 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Tim Cook and others from apple should attend. Meta should attend.

Get ready to be blown away at Groceryshop by Mark Edwards and 345 Global’s industry-leading software.
