On the day that ChatGPT was unveiled, I wrote this paragraph on a post:
“ChatGPT just made the metaverse irrelevant. Meta and other companies pursuing the metaverse will now have to pivot. Why? The metaverse is a neat idea but AI can destroy companies like Google and Meta. I anticipate that within a few weeks or months, Meta will announce they’re now focused on AI and quietly kill the metaverse.”
We’ll have to keep waiting to see if I’m right.
Artificial intelligence has been one of the most transformative technologies of the past decade, and its impact on industries from healthcare to finance has been significant. In the field of AI, speed of iteration can make all the difference. By iterating rapidly, ChatGPT and BARD by Google, have become increasingly powerful and effective, taking the internet by storm due to their groundbreaking abilities.
When I write about AI and especially ChatGPT AI and OpenAI, I always point out that the technology is still in the infant stage. I believe the real benefits of AI won’t appear for another few years as ChatGPT and other AI applications improve.
Stay tuned as there is much more to come related to AI.
In addition to ChatGPT, the software from 345 Global, founded by Mark Edwards, is actually just as impressive if not more so.
345 Global’s software provides retailers with the ability to perform integrated store planning, merchandising, sales, marketing, CPG and brand collaboration, and store and digital supply chain analysis utilizing digital twins. Note: I am going to start calling out software companies who claim they have digital twin capability when in reality, they can only go to Level One – a digital copy that provides little value. 345 Global is the only software company that has proven Level 7 capabilities.
I attended the Category Management Association in Las Vegas this week. As expected, many of the software vendors were touting their AI and digital twin capabilities in an attempt to gain attention. I evaluated each vendor’s software. What I discovered is that most of the software vendors will soon be out of business. Each company I spoke with told me they’re trying to raise capital and that they’re for sale.
345 Global’s booth, one the few professional-looking booths at the conference, was packed with executives from the largest retailers globally. I heard the following phrases from CEOs and other executives who watched 345’s software in action:
Is this real?
How is this possible?
Your software has voice recognition and conversational capability?
I’ve never seen anything like this. This will transform our company.
345 Global has a growing list of retailers contracting the software, and large investors wanting to invest. Wakefern Food Corp. provided a demo of what they’ve achieved with 345. It’s very impressive.
Keep an eye on 345 Global.
