I give Google CEO Sundar Pichai, credit for doing his best to act “surprised” when he spoke about the impact AI will have on the economy and society. Sundar knows exactly what AI can do. Google has used AI for years. AI is vital to Google.

This is the brutal truth when it comes to AI:

It is the new oil and gold but more valuable than either.

It is the new must-have technology.

It will devastate 300 million jobs worldwide. It will create millions of new jobs.

AI will be weaponized – guaranteed.

Nations will not “come together” to form a NATO for AI. It’s foolish to think this.

AI will change nearly everything in our lives.

Education is going to undergo a much-needed transformation. AI-powered robots will replace some teachers by 2030.

The pharmaceutical industry will be severely impacted. PfizerAbbVieJohnson & JohnsonNovartis, and others, will quickly learn the value of AI. Research scientists with PhDs will be replaced and disrupted by AI. The best PhDs will embrace AI for their research; they’re the next Nobel Prize winners.

Fearing AI is wrong. As a country, we need to set a goal of leading in AI. Not using AI. Not embracing AI. Leading in all things AI. It is not hyperbole to suggest that if the U.S. does not lead in AI, the days of the U.S. being a superpower are limited.

AI must become our nation’s Moonshot and Manhattan Project rolled into one. We must win this race.

AI will spur a new “Arms Race.” It will happen. Why? Because AI will render most of the weapons systems in use obsolete. AI will become a doctrine of offense. Conversely, countries will need a doctrine of defense against AI. Warfare as we know it will change significantly. It will have no choice.

Business is about to become competitive on a level that we have never seen in the past. AI isn’t technology that will transform a business. AI has the potential for rendering entire industries obsolete, and creating new industries in ways we don’t yet realize. Companies that achieve a competitive advantage in AI will become fabulously wealthy. By 2030, it’s possible that we will see companies worth $10T – If not more.

You read it here first: Some companies won’t have a CEO. Instead, companies will turn to ‘Chief AI Officers’ with expertise in leveraging AI to run and grow a business.

Banking and Finance will transform more in the next 10 years than the previous 100 years.

Retail is about to undergo its biggest transformation. 345 Global, led by Mark Edwards, has created the most advanced AI software for retailers. Follow Mark and 345.

Companies better start hiring AI talent. Now. It must be a priority.

I’ve researched AI for five years. AI is “the great equalizer” – almost anyone can master AI. My advice is to learn how to use AI-driven systems. If you don’t, you will be left behind. Get started. Today.
